Short version: ScrollWeave processes screenshot pixels on your device. The current extension release has no analytics, advertising network, user account, image upload, or remote image-processing backend.
What ScrollWeave does
When you start a capture, ScrollWeave temporarily reads the visible content of the active webpage, scrolls that page when full-page mode is selected, captures visible frames, and combines those frames inside the extension editor.
What is stored
- Settings: preferences such as theme and capture timing use
chrome.storage.sync. Chrome may sync these settings according to your browser account settings. - Recent captures: when history is enabled, captures are stored in the extension's local IndexedDB on this device.
- Exported files: PNG, JPEG, and PDF files are saved only when you explicitly download or copy them.
What is not collected
ScrollWeave does not collect browsing history, screenshot pixels, webpage contents, personal identifiers, usage analytics, or advertising identifiers. It does not sell or share user data.
Permissions
activeTab: access the page after you start a capture.scripting: run the capture helper on the active page.storage: save preferences.contextMenus: provide right-click capture shortcuts.
Data control and deletion
Open Capture History to delete individual captures or clear all. Set the history limit to 0 to disable future history storage. Uninstalling the extension removes its local browser storage according to Chrome's behavior.
Network access
The current release has no host permissions and no production backend. Runtime scripts, styles, and icons are packaged with the extension. The editor may read a locally-created data URL to decode a captured frame; this is not a remote upload.
Children and sensitive information
ScrollWeave is a general productivity tool and is not directed to children. Review screenshots before sharing them and use blur or crop tools to remove sensitive content.
Changes to this policy
If a future release adds cloud features, analytics, advertising, licensing, or any new data flow, this policy and the Chrome Web Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that release.
